How do I find the right PERSON?

The other day a friend of mine sent me a link to a very interesting article in the October issue of La Presse.

The title was: Where, how and why to look for reliable financial advice.

Reading the article, I was stunned by the statistics. Knowing that 73% of Quebecers didn't have a financial advisor at last count (the Canadian average is 65%).

That's huge, don't you think? What are their arguments?

They feel their assets aren't big enough, others fear they won't understand the jargon used, or dread that their past decisions will be judged.

Added to this is mistrust of the professional's independence, remuneration or transparency.

Others don't believe they need any support, as their own knowledge is sufficient.

The risk of fraud is also on the long list of fears.

To find out why, I suggest you read the article: https://lp.ca/6qvfoM?sharing=true.

What can I tell you about choosing an independent advisor?

It's to store around, to look, to see the variety of financial products they can offer you, how much they pay, how independent they are, and so on.

But ABOVE ALL, IT'S ABOUT CREATING A RELATIONSHIP OF TRUST WITH THIS PERSON...

Based on reaching your achievable goals and knowing that it's accessible and, above all, that it's going to be PRESENT WHEN THERE'S A STORM on the horizon.

Having a professionally drafted financial plan also leads to "greater financial resilience", according to a study published in July, i.e. a greater ability to cope with unforeseen events such as a sudden rise in interest rates, a crippling illness or the loss of a spouse.

Once again, I invite you to read this very interesting article: If you have any questions?
